Trans and Singing: A Vocal Symposium for Voice Teachers and Singers
Saturday, February 23, 2019
2:30-9:30pm
Admission is FREE. Advanced registration is required.
The symposium is a day-long event on transgender singing for voice teachers and singers of all genders and is hosted by the CMC Voice Department, New Voices Bay Area TIGQ Chorus, and funded by a CMC Partnership Grant. It features presentations, masterclasses, and demonstrations by experts in TIGQ vocal pedagogy and voice science, panel discussions with performers, and an open rehearsal. This free symposium is an important opportunity to enable dialogue, create safe spaces for TIGQ (transgender, intersex, and genderqueer) vocal expression and community building, and broaden musical perspectives in the field at large.
