CHIEF BOIMA is an old friend of Tormenta Tropical, as he's one half of the BANANA CLIPS project (with our own ORO11). After holding it down in Oakland for many years, he relocated to NYC a couple of years back and has settled in with the venerable Dutty Artz crew. He's always been a badman behind the decks, and we can't wait to see him in action once again.
MATT SHADETEK is someone we've been wanting to host for a long time. The Dutty Artz co-founder has a long history of forward-thinking production, and just released a new LP. Shadetek's tastes are diverse, but he'll be assembling a special dancehall/tropical set for the Tormenta dancefloor.
THORNATO makes bombs, pure and simple. Part of the Cumba Mela crew, this guy's tracks have been fueling Tormenta Tropical dance parties for a long time, so it's going to be a major treat to see what he can do with a proper DJ set.
And of course, Tormenta Tropical residents SHAWN REYNALDO and ORO11 will be on hand with the standard regimen of cumbia, dancehall, and electro sudamericano heat.
