TOM RHODES, The Pearls, Kyle Williams

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Tom Rhodes

For the last five years, Tom Rhodes has been making quite a name for himself in the Americana scene. His award winning music is as real and honest as it gets. His distinctive voice, road-worn and raspy from years of honing his craft, and inviting guitar work that cleverly masks its complexity, form a warm and welcoming home for his heartfelt and inspiring lyrics.

His recent appearance on season 9 of NBC’s The Voice, marks but a single moment in an incredibly busy 2015. Tom has signed an exclusive licensing deal with Platform Music Group, and his song “Fist Full of Dollars” place 2nd in the Songwriter Hall of Fame 2015 songwriting competition. Tom’s most recent album, With or Without (2014), has also been received with unanimously rave reviews in the United States and abroad.

Having played shows across the US and Europe throughout his career, Tom has steadily built a diehard fan base that has seen him through the release of four independent albums: Tom Rhodes (2004), No Apologies (2006), Better Son (2010), and With or Without (2014). Fans have followed him from small bars in the DC area to venues such as the Walnut Creek Amphitheater in North Carolina, the Paramount Theater in Oakland, CA, and Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. As of 2015, his music has been licensed and used on network and cable TV shows, feature length movies, and commercials across all platforms. Tom’s music can be heard on Pandora, Spotify, Rdio, Grooveshark, curated Americana and Alt-country radio shows, as well as terrestrial radio and internet streaming stations around the world.

Geographical influences are unavoidable, when you've spent as much time in and around some of America’s greatest musical heartlands. Born in Houston, Texas, he moved to the Washington, DC area before heading off to places like Memphis, New Orleans, New York City, and even the Caribbean - each place leaving indelible marks on his eclectic songwriting and performing style. In 2011 he moved to Oakland, CA (where he currently resides), while working on new material and following some of his other passions, including illustration and videography.

When in the Bay Area, Tom plays with his all-star band: Oscar Westesson (Bhi Bhiman, Quiles & Cloud), Andrew Laubacher (Con Brio, Kelly McFarling), and Tim Marcus (Lia Rose, Jessie Bridges), and is often accompanied by The Lady Crooners on background vocals. Tom Rhodes and his band are currently in the studio working on a new album, set to be released in 2016.

The Pearls

The Pearls are an Americana, Alt-Country, and Western Swing band that hail from Vancouver, WA. Their influences include The Band, The Eagles, George Jones, The Grateful Dead and The Everly Brothers, in addition to old Dixieland jazz and classic country. The Pearls are a vocal-driven band with songs that blend the spirit of travel and adventure with Cajun, gypsy jazz, bluegrass and country influences. The band is Patrick Tetreault (acoustic guitar, vocals), Buck Ryan (bass, vocals), Joe Haegele (drums, percussion), Nick O’Donnell (electric guitar, banjo, vocals), Robin Suskind (pedal steel), and Nikolette Divine (vocals).

Kyle Williams

If you ask California-based singer/songwriter Kyle Williams to describe his music, he’ll most likely give you three fairly normal adjectives: “acoustic,” “soul,” and “pop.” However, the music Williams creates is anything but normal. His songs are as diverse, layered, and complex as his personal story, his influences, and his vision for making music.
