See how digital designs become printed works with the award-winning artist Yiying Lu and San Francisco Center for the Book’s Studio Director Chad Johnson. You’ll learn how the duo worked together to produce this year’s Roadworks Steamroller Printing Festival poster. Then you’ll create your own design using iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. Bring your own devices or Apple will provide them.

Studio Director
Chad Johnson is a Bay Area artist, printer, bookbinder, and teacher. He holds an MFA from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and works as studio director at the San Francisco Center for the Book.

Yiying Lu
Artist and Creative Director
Yiying Lu has created iconic art for clients like Disney and Twitter and has been named one of the Fast Company’s Most Creative People in Business 2018. She’s also the artist behind the dumpling emoji. She recently became a new board member for the San Francisco Center for the Book.
