Tiny Habits - The Keepers Tour

Tiny Habits with Marie Dresselhuis

From jamming in a dorm room in Boston to their own North American tour, Tiny Habits' music is wowing crowds around the continent with their smooth and harmonic sound. While attending Berklee College of Music, the trio of Maya Rae, Cinya Khan and Judah Mayowa met via social media. Fast forward a few years and Tiny Habits are embarking on their 22-show The Good Riddance Tour in 2023, which will take them across the United States and Canada. The group will be making stops in Toronto, Montreal, Boston, Philadelphia, New York City, Atlanta, Houston, and Los Angeles, among other cities. While freshman at Berklee, Rae and Kahn met on Instagram while attempting to solve their mutual frustration with the dorm's toilet paper holder, and quickly became friends. Soon after, Rae was hosting jam sessions with Kahn and Mayowa in her dorm, where the trio began filming and uploading their covers of classic 2000s pop and indie hits onto TikTok and Instagram. It wasn't long before the content became viral, hitting millions of views on both platforms. This newfound internet reach caught the attention of not only regular fans, but also industry titans such as the late David Crosby of the legendary group Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, who tweeted "I've listened to this about ten times now and I think they are the best new singing group I've heard". Not long after, the trio was asked by successful indie artist Lizzy McAlpine to help create new vocal arrangements and handle backup band duties for her NPR Tiny Desk concert in Washington, D.C. Building off of this momentum, Tiny Habits had shifted from mostly covering classic pop hits on TikTok to releasing their own original music, although they still kept a strong online presence. Currently, the group has more than 275,000 followers and 3.7 million likes on TikTok and 180,000 followers on instagram. In September 2022, Tiny Habits released their first original single "pennies (voice memo)," which reached over 300,000 streams on Spotify within the first three months. In November of that same year the group released their second single, "hemenway," which reached more than 225,000 Spotify streams.

Tiny Habits were formed in Boston by artists Maya Rae, Cinya Khan and Judah Mayowa. The three singer-songwriters met at Berklee College of Music and the band was born at the beginning of 2022. They started out by sharing covers recorded in the stairwell of their dorm and posting them on social media. Focusing on beautifully intimate three-part harmonies the trio's enticing signature sound, offered exquisite, reimagined versions of songs from across a spectrum of styles and quickly drove them to viral success. They received recognition and early support from artists as diverse as David Crosby, Marcus Mumford, Phoebe Bridgers, and Noah Kahan. Collaborations include work with Mark Ronson, JP Saxe and Lizzy McAlpine, who they supported on NPR's Tiny Desk. Their first two singles of original music "pennies (voice memo)" & "hemenway" were released at the end of 2022. The songs were met with an overwhelming response, organically garnering over 1 million plays across all digital streaming platforms in the first couple of months. Their debut EP "Tiny Things" was released in April 2023 and established them as one of "the" bands to watch in the year ahead. In early 2023 the band opened for Gracie Abram's "Good Riddance Tour" across North America, followed by their own sold-out US "Tiny Tour." With a new album and European tour on the horizon there is much to look forward to in the year ahead. Recently praised by Sir Elton John on his radio program "Rocket Hour" "Ah, so beautiful, Tiny Habits... They're delicious, we love them..." What more can you say!
