Thoughtluck at The Lab

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Tuesday, October 29, 2013
7 - 9 pm
FREE admission

Please join us at The Lab for a conversation between various representatives of artist-run and artist-centered organizations in the bay area. Those just emerging from graduate school will converse with those who've been administering such spaces for years/decades, and we will discuss the unique possibilities, relevancy, proliferation, and usefulness of such groups. We will also contrast these spaces with (somewhat more) traditional arts spaces and discuss areas for collaboration as well as specialization. This will be an exploratory, not evaluative, discussion and audience participation is welcomed.

Participants include:
Joel Dean of Important Projects (http://www.importantprojects.net/)
Aaron Harbour of Et Al. (http://http://etaletc.com/)
Sarah Hotchkiss and Carey Lin of Stairwell's (http://stairwells.org/)
Michelle Mansour of Root Division (http://rootdivision.org/)
Evan Reiser of City Limits Gallery (http://citylimitssf.tumblr.com/)
Emma Spertus of Real Time and Space (http://www.realtimeandspace.org/)
Katherine Worel and Emmanuelle Namont Kouznetsov of Off-Space (http://www.off-space.org/)

About Thoughtluck
Thoughtluck is a (semi-)regular social experiment and conversation series between interested parties over food and drink. Each Thoughtluck is centered around a different theme. Admission is free, and the bringing of snacks to share is encouraged but not at all mandatory. Please do not bring alcohol; The Lab will have beverages on offer. Thoughtluck is organized by Stephanie Rohlfs.
