The National Steinbeck Center is proud to announce the third annual Mariachi Festival, which takes place from 7-10 p.m. Saturday, September 6. A premium tequila tasting precedes the festival from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at the Center, which is located at 1 Main St., Salinas.
Tickets are $100 for the festival, which includes the premium tequila tasting, and $50 for the tequila tasting alone. Tickets are available at the National Steinbeck Center bookstore, located at 1 Main Street, Salinas, CA. (831) 775-4721. Store hours are 10 AM – 5 PM Monday-Sunday.
A day-long celebration of Mariachi music and culture, the festival features internationally acclaimed mariachi bands, food, authentic decorations, and a premium tequila tasting. The tasting will include brands such as Reserva de Familia and Don Julio 1942. The estimated value of tasting all these exclusive tequilas is $1700.
This year’s performances include Mariachi Mexicanisimo, Mariachi Autliense, Mariachi Los Toreros and a special presentation by Lupita Infante, niece of Pedro Infante.
Proceeds from the Mariachi Festival support programs at the National Steinbeck Center, including the Performing Arts Series, Inspirational Speakers series, and the Steinbeck Young Authors Program. The 3rd Annual Mariachi Festival will celebrate the heritage, music, arts and beauty of Mexico.
