Thien Pham and Briana Loewinsohn: Besties in the Gallery

SEE EVENT DETAILS
The Cartoon Art Museum welcomes award-winning cartoonists Thien Pham (Family Style: Memories of an American from Vietnam) and Briana Loewinsohn (Ephemera: A Memoir) as our latest Cartoonists In Real Life for a twice-a-week residency in June 2024! The comics besties are full-time teachers during the school year, and they're spending the first month of their summer vacation drawing and talking about comics with Cartoon Art Museum visitors on Monday and Thursday afternoons from 11am-3pm. Additional special guests from throughout the Bay Area will be joining them throughout the summer--stay tuned for details!

This Cartoonists In Real Life program is free and open to the public, and sessions will alternate between the Bil Keane Family Lobby and the Cartoon Art Museum Drawing Room.

He is the author and illustrator of the graphic novel Sumo and he illustrated the middle-grade graphic novel Level Up, written by Gene Luen Yang, and is an ongoing comic contributor to Eater SF. Currently Pham is working on his next graphic novel, teaching, and eating--a lot.
