In this three-day workshop, you will learn holistic, healing yoga practices that are designed to complement an ongoing regular recovery program. These practices address the whole human experience including; Physical, Emotional, Energetic, Intellectual, and Spiritual.
Engaging in a holistic, comprehensive and personalized program elevates the potential for understanding one’s true self and potential. This sense of self and life potential assists one in overcoming addiction. Therapeutic Yoga and classic Yoga Philosophy provides the means to strengthen the relationship to the truth as well as parts of the self that have been neglected or in the shadows. These shadow selves are the very parts that need our attention to begin to understand the depths of our experiences, needs and intrinsic desires in this life. Many find a significant sense of meaning in spiritual paths as a means of connecting to the deep truth, others and the world around us. Yoga provides not only physical health but also mental, emotional and spiritual paths of study and exploration. In this workshop, we will also explore how Yoga Philosophy, lifestyle, and practices relate and correspond to the traditional 12-step program.
It is reported that approximately only 10% of those requiring a recovery program actually receive it.Therapeutic Yoga is approachable and easy to apply to a variety of populations and situations.
This workshop is designed for Health Professionals, Therapists, Advanced Yoga Teachers, and Yoga Therapists. This course is part II of a two-part “Yoga For Mental Health” module in the 300-hour courses.
