The TIDES of March: Younger Youngest, Token Girl & Cosmic Amanda

TIDES is a party dedicated to showcasing and celebrating the work of women and nonbinary folks working in music, visual art, and other media.Our next event is on Saturday, March 30th at El Rio. Each installment of TIDES features a full lineup of music, as well as a mini-marketplace of visual artists on the back patio. Every event also raises money for a different nonprofit working in women's rights -- with a focus on issues that affect the trans, WOC, and LGBTQ communities -- so a portion of proceeds goes to organizations fighting the good fight. This month we're fundraising for Women's Audio Mission, a Bay Area nonprofit organization that uses music and media and an incredible “carrot” of a training environment – the only professional recording studio in the world built and run by women – to attract over 2,000 underserved women and girls every year to STEM and creative technology studies that inspire them to amplify their voices and become the innovators of tomorrow. WAM’s award-winning curriculum weaves art and music with science, technology and computer programming and works to close the critical gender gap in creative technology careers.

Younger Youngest
Younger Youngest is a dark-folk/Americana band based in San Francisco, CA. Blending reverb-heavy guitars with smokey vocals, their songs are lyrically driven and delicately crafted. While maintaining a deep reverence for songwriting, their music expands the boundaries of the singer-songwriter genre.
Token Girl
Token Girl is a lively three-piece ensemble based out of Oakland. Starting in 2016, bandleader Liss Leigh stepped out of her longtime role as a rhythm musician in the pursuit of creative truth through music. Token Girl cooks with a blended recipe of sounds: one part Fleetwood Mac, one part Esperanza Spalding, and a pinch of Paul McCartney. Spirited with passionate original tunes, practiced musicians, and undeniable stage chemistry, Token Girl performs music that leaves audiences feeling revitalized and fuzzy. They could play a five-year-old’s birthday party just as easily as they could play Waynestock. Token Girl, like a pistachio macaroon, is the flavor-filled experience you never knew you always wanted.
