Every year in the far end of Black Rock City a Temple rises, offering a safe space for the needs of the soul to take root and grow, or surrender and find solace. Some describe the Temple as the yin to The Man’s yang, an essential balance for the Burning Man event; the Man burns in a raucous celebration on Saturday night while the Temple burns in quiet reverence on Sunday evening.
The design selected for this year’s Temple, the Temple of Promise, was proposed by the Dreamers Guild, a newly formed team of veteran Burners who come from across Northern California. Once completed by the hard work of volunteers from across the globe, the care of the Temple will be handed over to an exceptional group of volunteers, the Temple Guardians. For this month’s East Bay Burners Social we are honored to hear from both the Temple builders and Guardians.
