Fans of mainstream artists have so many easy ways to get a peek behind the curtain: tell-all memoirs, magazine articles, hour-long VH1 specials, but not so for independent music lovers. The Art Boutiki looks to remedy that by launching the new series, the Talk Hop, where local and regional indie bands will play intimate acoustic performances, and host Zen Zenith (of the podcast "Listen Up") will interview the bands and then moderate a Q&A session with the audience. San Francisco indie-rock trio Rin Tin Tiger and East Bay alt-rockers Finish Ticket will play the inaugural event. (Aaron Carnes)
