The Sound of Sanctuary

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Sound has been used as a powerful tool for healing and introspection in myriad cultures and spiritual practices throughout human history. The Sound of Sanctuary is a sound mediation held at FOR-SITE Foundations’ Sanctuary exhibition in the Fort Mason Chapel. Led by Somatic Experience and Certified Sound Healing Practitioner Loriel Starr, participants are invited to lay upon the Sanctuary artist rugs, immerse themselves in the restorative sonic space, and tune in to their inner sanctuary.

Doors open at 6:30pm; the meditation starts promptly at 7:00pm. Doors will close at 7:15 pm with no more admittance in order to preserve the meditation space for participants.

Participants should make sure to bring their own blanket to lay upon, as well as a second blanket to cover their body for warmth. A pillow for the head or under the knees, and an eye covering are additional items that can support one’s comfort.

Loriel Starr CMT, SEP offers her acclaimed sound bath & sound meditation events both locally and nationally.  She is a certified Sound Practitioner and a graduate of The California Institute of Integral Studies; “Sound & Music in the Healing Arts Program”.  Through her public events and private practice, Loriel loves to use sound as a method for restoring resiliency and promoting well-being.

For more information about her work visit https://www.lorielstarr.com

Free RSVP required; a suggested donation of $10-$15 can be made at the door. All procceeds from the event support FOR-SITE's presentation of Sanctuary.
