As The Sonic Shamanic leads THE ASCENT: A HEALING SOUND JOURNEY composed to de-stress and relax the body, while carrying the mind beyond everyday constraint, to the unbounded realm of Spirit and imagination, creating feelings of freedom and connection, inspiration and love, providing energy, inducing joy.


From jungle’s edge to mountain plateau, through roaring waters to temple sanctuary, follow a musical composition combining the healing sounds of antique Tibetan singing bowls, quartz crystal bowls, and bronze gong... with sacred chant and instrumentation featuring cellos and guitar, saxophones and clarinet and flutes, harmonium and shruti, tabla and Hang and cajon.

Plus an AFTER-JOURNEY for chatting, lounging, eating (vegan bites), sipping (chocolate), and swaying.

the enchanting SILVIA NAKKACH (Voice and Percussion)
Silvia Nakkach, MA, MMT, is a Grammy-nominated musician and composer, who has cultivated a voice that transports listeners into the heart of devotion and magic. A former psychotherapist, and a leading authority in the field of sound and consciousness transformation, she is on the faculty of the California Institute of Integral Studies, where she created the world’s premier academically certified program in Sound, Voice and Music in the Healing Arts. She also is the founding director of the Vox Mundi and the Mystery School of the Voice, a project devoted to preserving sacred musical traditions, combining education, performance, and spiritual service, with centers throughout the USA, Brazil, Argentina, and India. Silvia has pioneered the integration of microtonal singing and the ragas of India with integrative medicine applications, contributing an extensive body of vocal techniques that have become landmarks in the field of sound and music therapies across the world. She has released 15 CDs including, and her latest book Free Your Voice is inspiring musicians, vocalists, healers, yogis, and spiritual seekers worldwide.

the masterful KARMA MOFFETT (Tibetan Singing Bowls, Hang Drum, Tibetan Horns)
Karma composes music designed to relax and heal thru harmonic vibrations, using his unique collection of instruments featuring antique Tibetan Bowls, Bells, Tingsha, Longhorn, and Conch Shells. Karma has sifted through nearly five-thousand Tibetan bowls over a period of thirty-five years to accumulate twenty bowls. These were selected for their purity and clarity of sound, sustained resonance, and harmonic blending or pairing with the other bowls within the set. When the bowls are played in runs or struck as pairs, their harmonics penetrate the physical and subtle bodies of the listeners. The audience easily relaxes into a natural state of meditation.

the entraining JOSS JAFFE (Tabla, Guitar, Cajon)
Joss Jaffe roots his music in his desire to unite people through spirit, love, joy, community, and consciousness. He is a multi-instrumentalist, focusing on tabla, bass, and guitar, who also teaches the ragas and rhythms of India. Joss began playing guitar and writing songs at age 9, and, introduced to the music of India through the chanting of his parents and their meditation teacher Baba Muktananda, began studying tabla, sarode & vocal with Montino Boubon at 15, and later, with Ali Akbar Kahn, Swapan Chaudhuri, and Zakir Hussain. He collaborates with artists of varied cultures and languages to create a nexus of new music discovery, and for many years has accompanied Jai Uttal, Steve Kimock, Alex Grey, Rachel Brice, Silvia Nakkach, and Shimshai. He has toured multiple continents, and recorded several albums, while his work as a producer and composer has been critically acclaimed by LA Yoga Magazine, the UK’s Om Magazine, and other prominent publications.

the mysterious SUELLEN PRIMOST (Cello)
A seasoned, highly sought-after cellist, recording artist, improviser and sound healer, Suellen is known for her soulful expressivity, creative imagination and versatility across genres, ranging from Classical, Ambient and Jazz to many types of World Music: Celtic, Roma, Turkish, Arabic and Indian Classical. For over a decade, Suellen served as Music Director for The Artship Ensemble, an innovative, traveling dance theatre company based in San Francisco, creating scores for 10 productions. Suellen has also played on films and performed with acclaimed vocalist, Silvia Nakkach, hang drum maestra, Laura Inserra, gifted oudist, Gary Hegedus, digeridoo maestro, Stephen Kent, jazz trumpeter, Jeff Oster, and percussionist Peter Maund. Other collaborators and ensembles include North Indian vocalist, Shivpreet Singh, soundhealers Eostar Kamala, Buddy Comfort and Clare Hedin, Soul Tones/ Crystal Infinity, The Murmurations Duo (with Jeremy Marais), Ya L’ayl, Spiral Dance Chamber Jazz, Hardly Strictly Jazz with Jon Rubin, The Pacifica Duo with Larry Walker, and The Espiritu (Classical) Ensembles.

the melodic JEREMY MARAIS (Alto and Baritone Saxophone, Clarinet, Hang Drum)
Born and raised in the French Alps, Jeremy started to study saxophone as a kid and very soon developed a strong interest for improvised music. He has been living and studying traditional music in various parts of the world: West Africa, Spain, India, Turkey and Israel. As a multi-instrumentalist, Jérémy, in addition to alto and baritone sax, performs with frame drum, balafon and clarinet. He played and recorded with French bands L' Amarante, Le Grotorkestre, Israeli bands Sumsumband, Madboojah project, Portuguese band Terrakota, Burkina Faso band Farafina, Indian band Rajasthan Roots, . While living in France, Jérémy opened for musicians like Louis Sclavis, Rabi Abu Khalil, Michel Godard.

the resonating LAUREN WAGGONER (Gong, Quartz Crystal Bowls, Harmonium, Cello)
Lauren is a Sound Healing Artist, Kundalini Yoga & Meditation instructor, and Sat Nam Rasayan student teacher. Her life's passion is to uplift and empower others through music, sound, and presence.

the spirit-full BRANDILYN BRIERLEY (Supporting Vocals, Singing Bowls)
Brandilyn sings to channel angelic, celestial realms of divine harmony. An intuitive psychotherapist who integrates sound healing, mindfulness, and vocal therapy into her practice, she guides her clients to personal empowerment and spiritual embodiment by freeing the power of voice. Brandilyn obtained her Master’s degree in Integral Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies, and also is an artist, beekeeper, yoga teacher and meditation instructor. She is dedicated to shining luminous light in the world, nourishing life on Earth, and radiating love to all living creatures.

the magical MAGA AYALA (Supporting Vocals, Percussion)
Maga explores the depth of the human experience through the music of her vocal expression, which she offers for the expansion of all. A women's leadership coach, certified sound practitioner, and energy healer., Maga weaves her voice work and energy healing in ceremonial settings that guide women to reconnect to their bodies, voices and unique feminine spirituality.

the guiding MATT LEVINE (Composer, Conductor, Guitar)
An accomplished composer and music producer, Matt co-founded The Sonic Shamanic. His skill at narrative conveyance through music has made him one of the most sought after musicians in the video game industry, and he has, as well, produced music for a wide range of television, advertising, technology, corporate clients, and recording artists including Thomas Dolby, Liberty Ellman, Vijay Iyer, and E.W. Wainwright. Matt graduated from California Institute of the Arts, receiving a BFA in music composition, and holds a Certificate in Sound, Voice, and Music in the Healing Arts from the California Institute of Integral Studies.  He currently is a member of the faculty of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
 
the lucky LEO RADERMAN (Alto Saxophone, Native American Flute)
A descendent of Russian Klezmorim, Leo conceived and founded The Sonic Shamanic. An inventor by profession, Leo graduated from the Sound, Voice, and Music in the Healing Arts Certificate Program at the California Institute of Integral Studies, is a practitioner of Holotropic Breathwork, and holds a Masters degree in Systematic and Philosophical Theology from the Graduate Theological Union at UC Berkeley.
