Grandmaster Flash

Emerging from the South Bronx in the early 1970s, Grandmaster Flash is inarguably one of Hip Hop’s original innovators. In the earliest days of the genre, he manipulated music by placing his fingers on the vinyl, perfected beat looping, and discovered many of the most iconic beats still commonly sampled today. It’s no surprise that The New York Times calls him Hip Hop’s first virtuoso. Today, he’s the voice of an entire generation of 1970s hip hop pioneers. From his electric live shows, to his production role on Netflix’ The Get Down, Grandmaster Flash is at once a historian, a storyteller, and a cultural force. The music of the 1970s fueled the rise of Hip Hop, but much of that decade’s influence has been lost to time. With access to archival master recordings, images, and videos from the vaults of the major record labels, Grandmaster Flash’s live show is a celebration of Hip Hop’s most formative decade.

Brasstracks

While studying jazz together at NYC's Manhattan School of Music, Ivan Jackson & Conor Rayne linked up to form Brasstracks in 2014 as a side project to produce the music they were passionate about. Their songs and covers spread quickly through the internet, and since then, they have toured with Lido, Nao, Mr Carmack, Jack Garratt & GRiZ; played iconic venues & festivals such as Red Rocks & Coachella; made songs with GoldLink, Anderson Paak, Wyclef Jean, Lido & Khalid; and have dropped critically acclaimed music of their own. In 2016 they produced arguably the biggest Hip-Hop record of the year - Chance The Rapper's ‘No Problem’ featuring Lil Wayne & 2Chainz. This led to GRAMMY nominations for Best Rap Song, adding to a nomination for writing on Anderson Paak’s ‘Am I Wrong’ & and one GRAMMY win for Best Rap Album for their contribution to Chance's ‘Coloring Book'. They also released their debut EP, Good Love. During a heavy summer ’17 festival season playing all over North America, they released part one of their most recent two-part project “For Those Who Know”, boasting collaborations with Robert Glasper, The Underachievers & more. They kicked off 2018 with their first headline tour, playing 19 cities & selling out over half of them. With part II of “For Those Who Know” coming this summer, the year is about to get even bigger for these 2 Grammy winning musicians.

MXXWLL

With a drummer/producer for a dad and a backing vocalist mum, MXXWLL's passion for music grew organically. Growing up around studios, having heard a lot of different music, his taste is understandably varied. MXXWLL's effortlessly chilled out, funk-infused synth-led hip-hop instrumentals - perfect for fans of Karma Kid, Bondax and Snakehips - have attracted support from some pretty massive names in the music industry: DJ Jazzy Jeff and Snoop Dogg. It's no surprise, then, that MXXWLL is hailed as one of the leaders of hip-hop’s next generation. Rather than being daunted by the hype, he's taking it all in his stride and building on the excitement.
