This San Diego quintet plays soft alternative rock that borders on coffee shop, acoustic singer-songwriter material. The singer's gruff, husky voice complements the calm rock songs on their album This Is The Plan. While most of the album stays true to style, there are a few exceptions. "Competition" is a slightly folky tune with a trance-like tambourine beat and slow vocal progression while "This is the Plan" has a roots-rock feel, with a nice groove and a three-part harmonies. And "Occidental" starts off quiet, but builds to up to an anthem-rock ballad by the end. (Amulya Datla)
