The Nibblers is a 7 piece rocking soul funk explosion, inciting a dance floor melee throughout Northern California with a riotous update on vintage Soul and R&B. With a combination of funky New Orleans inspired horns, soulful vocals, and hard hitting beats, the band is rapidly gaining a reputation as the go to fix for hardcore groove junkies. In 2010, the band won a Sacramento Area Music Award (Sammie) for best Funk/R&B band. Outside Sacramento, the band has played for former vice president Al Gore, Current TV, numerous private events, and intergalactic festivities. Pawn Shop Soul is a nine member instrumental band specializes in solid instrumental grooves originally recorded in the 60s and 70s artists from Stax, Volt, Chess and many others.
The repertoire borrows from popular Northern Soul tunes and brings back lost funk gems in an exciting live performance. You will be bouncing in your seat to soul, funk and Latin tunes you may be hearing for the first time but your body understands immediately. Pawn Shop Soul features a full horn line not often heard in this millennium. The horn front line stands and delivers on the powerful grooves generated by a five-piece rhythm section. An orchestra of soul all by itself, Hammond organ both sustains the groove and soars above it. Booty bumpin' bio-rhythms are supplied by inter-locking traps, bass and congas.
