For over 5 years, on the first Tuesday of each month, SOMArts Cultural Center presents "The News" featuring new, queer work by Bay Area artists. The News is a monthly cabaret evening that spotlights 10-minute or less performance pieces, experiments, and works in progress by pre-selected solo artists, groups, or troupes.
On Tuesday, April 4, the Queer Cultural Center’s (QCC) curates the closing night of The News with live performance previews of 2017 National Queer Arts Festival shows. The evening will include stand out performances by artists participating in QCC’s Creating Queer Community program, including SevanKelee Boult, Kendra Lubalin, Dazié Grego-Sykes, Natalia Vigil, Ramona Webb and wild card Kolmel W Love. Come celebrate these 2017 NQAF performers, QCC's continuing dedication to queer programming and the closing night of five years of The News as we go out with a bang!
