Founded by Veronica Vasicka in 2005, Minimal Wave has done the invaluable work of historical recovery, unearthing an entire subgenre for a new generation. Emerging from the brief postpunk moment of the late 1970s and early 1980s and created by a loose network of like-minded musicians in home studios scattered across Europe, Minimal Wave found the impulses of the early avant-gardes reanimated with help of analog synths.

Central American born Silent Servant has performed worldwide in clubs from LA, Berlin to Osaka. A chance meeting with Karl O'Conner in 1999 would establish a friendship that would open the door to the Sandwell District label in 2006. Silent Servant's sound is a reinterpretation of early '80s post-punk electronics, paired with the deep, metallic sounds of Basic Channel and Downwards.

Dark Entries was born in the spring of 2009 to release out of print and unreleased synth-driven music as well as contemporary bands referencing that sound. A project of Josh Cheon, a vinyl-focused DJ and collector, Dark Entries takes great care in preserving sound quality and respecting the aesthetics of its artists. All of their releases are in limited runs, hand numbered and sometimes stamped, a carry over from the DIY days of the 1980s independent record labels.
Alessandro Adriani // Mannequin (Label + Mailorder)

Alessandro Adriani was born and raised in Rome, Italy and in 2008 he launched Mannequin Records and has been focused on that ever since. Aside from the label, he was producing tracks in his own Mannequin studio.

Together the duo sync machine rhythms of the mid-west with the avant-garde of early European electronics to make a uniquely dirty thump. An accosting mix of 808 kicks, deep-fried basslines, splattering synth gurgles and yelps of zeal.
