The McCoy Tyler Band is a hree piece acoustic trio that hails from Santa Cruz. Their music can best be described as a mix of Neil Young, The Devil Makes Three, Townes Van Zandt and Railroad Earth, with a little Bill Monroe and Tony Rice thrown in for good measure. Even though they only formed in 2011, the McCoy Tyler Band has already recorded and released an EP, and has performed at such notable venues as Kuumbwa Jazz Center, Don Quixote's, The Catalyst, and Moe's Alley. Marty O'Reilly reinvents American classics and composes original pieces, delivered with tight vocal harmonies, intricate guitar and banjo work, and a fierce sense of drive and soul.
