The Little Village Music Special features music from the non-profit label's roster of past, present and upcoming artists. This show presents music from:
Maurice Tani - Country music with a twist, Hillbilly Noir, Americana without limits
The Sampaguitas - Filipino folk songs and inspired originals in three-part harmonies, with influences from folk, blues, doo-wop girl groups, and the Filipinx-American diaspora
Kid & Lisa Andersen - Blues Music Awards nominated, master blues guitarist and producer at Greaseland Studios, and the powerful, versatile voice, signature sound and not so secret weapon found in many recordings, aka King & Queen of Greaseland Studios.
Aki Kumar - "Mumbai meets Muddy Waters," cross-cultural fusion, King of Bollywood Blues Founded in 2015, Little Village is an arts non-profit that uses music as a tool to increase cross cultural understanding.
Our day to day programming consists of recording and producing underground artists whose music has not yet been discovered outside their community. Through sharing multicultural music with American roots, we work to deepen understanding and promote empathy.
