It is with sadness that we announce 4th Street Fine Art, an award winning Berkeley art collective, gallery and studio, will be closing on September 16th 2022.
Opened at 1717 Fourth Street in January 2002 as The Art Gym, the 4th Street Studio was created to offer a pleasant, creative and affordable atmosphere to create art and network with other artists. From there it blossomed into a place where visitors can watch artists work while they contemplate works for sale or sign up for classes with established professionals.
Located at 2000 4th Street since 2012 4th Street Fine Art has hosted local artists and international juried shows along with the member artist's exhibits for ten years. Member artists have been able to share an in-depth sample of their own work with the public year-round, while visitors have been able to talk with the artists and buy affordable art directly from them. Together member artists collaboratively ran all aspects of the gallery, each contributing countless hours to support one another.
4th Street Fine Art is a unique Berkeley experience, but more than that is a community. We hope as we say goodbye, you will drop by to support your local artists in our final weeks. As individual artists we will carry the experience we shared here with us wherever we go. We hope you will too. More information:
