Photographer Gregg Cobarr’s “The Key to Great People Photos” workshop at Samy’s Photo School is a crash course in people photography. In this class, students will learn how to take manual control of their camera using the shutter speed, aperture and ISO settings. Gregg’s energy and enthusiasm ensures that everyone will have a great time while they are learning.
-Learn how to photograph in any type of light -Easily understand aperture, shutter speed and ISO -Learn how to simplify using your camera and photograph as an “extension of yourself” -Learn exposure metering techniques -Know your camera so you can use your intuitive processes … the key to great photography -Leave “automatic” behind forever (at least most of the time) and take total control of your camera -Take this workshop and you will take better photos of your friends and loved ones.
This course is designed to teach you skills to be able to adjust quickly in a variety of shooting situations most commonly found while photographing either for personal work or on assignment. You will learn and apply how to constantly change four very important elements (aperture, shutter speed, ISO and white balance) while shooting to create a different look and feel of your photos. Making spontaneous, creative and intuitive decisions are important keys to becoming more proficient as a photographer and at the same time being able to have complete control over your images. This course will take place in the classroom and outside for hands on guided instruction. A model will be provided.
Gregg Cobarr has over thirty years of professional photography experience with such music industry clients as Columbia and Epic Records, RCA, Capitol, Universal Music Group, Curb and Warner Music. In the TV and movie industry, he has done work for 20th Century Fox and Columbia Pictures. Gregg has photographed such music artists as: Aerosmith, Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Ringo Starr, Led Zeppelin and many, many more. He holds a Bachelors Degree from Brooks Institute of Photography and a Master of Fine Arts Degree from California Institute of the Arts. Gregg’s work has been published both nationally and internationally in addition to numerous awards for his photography. He has had several exhibitions in Europe and the U.S. and has given Master Classes at International Photo Fairs in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia. Gregg does workshops both nationally and internationally for Nikon and continues to do Entertainment/Celebrity and Fashion photography both in the U.S. and in Europe. Recently, Gregg’s photos have been featured on both the NBC Today Show and the CNN Piers Morgan Tonight Show.
