The Joshua Trio: An Intimate Concert in the Swedenborgian Church

SEE EVENT DETAILS
A triumvirate of master musicians performs an eclectic selection of music from classical gems to contemporary commissions in an intimate, historic setting of unique beauty.
Recently formed, The Joshua Trio combines outstanding talents of acclaimed musicians, bringing the dimensions of sonorous cello, celestial harp, and versatile, expressive vocals to works from Debussy, Saint-Saens, and Stravinsky to Leonard Bernstein and Joni Mitchell.
Emil Miland, cello, has been a member of the San Francisco Opera Orchestra for nearly 30 years, making his solo debut with the San Francisco Symphony at age 16, and is an international performing soloist and chamber musician with reviews praising Mr. Miland's "impeccable playing in terms of both technique and taste" and lauding him for "extracting every ounce of passion from this passionate work". Many prominent contemporary composers have written and dedicated new works for him.
Ann Moss, acclaimed recording vocal artist and champion of contemporary vocal music, has been a featured soloist in premieres and performances of contemporary repertoire with some of the finest new opera ensembles and quartets. She has been personally responsible for the creation and premiere of over one hundred art songs, works of vocal chamber music and operatic roles and vocal chamber works, some of which were composed specifically of her, and she has lectured on vocal composition at colleges and universities across America. She was recently a soloist with the SF Symphony singing the music of Gershwin, and also performed a concert in tribute to beloved singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell on the occasion of her 75th birthday.
Meredith Clark, harp, has performed with orchestras and chamber ensembles across the globe, and currently performs with many orchestras in the Bay Area, including as guest principle with the San Francisco Symphony, as well as keeping a busy solo and chamber music performance schedule.  This summer, she joined the Lake Tahoe SummerFest orchestra, where she played alongside members of The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, The San Francisco Symphony and other of the country’s top symphonies.
This performance takes place in the intimate and unique Swedenborgian Church, a National Historic Monument in San Francisco's Presidio Heights neighborhood, known for it's cherished garden setting and the charmingly rustic fireside Arts&Crafts style sanctuary.
