The Identity Shift that Occurs with Motherhood

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Join us for Tendlab’s Quarterly Gathering for Working Parents
Powered by Motherly, Hosted by Airbnb
Featuring reproductive psychiatrist Dr. Alexandra Sacks
We will be hosting a panel discussion on the identity shift that occurs with motherhood and how this impacts career performance.
This special session, part of Tendlab’s ongoing speaker series for working parents, features Dr. Alexandra Sacks, M.D., a renowned reproductive psychiatrist and the leading expert on “matrescence,” the developmental transition into motherhood. She is known for popularizing the concept in her TED talk and in her New York Times article “The Birth of a Mother,” where she is a regular contributor. In addition to her book, you can find her podcast Motherhood Sessions newly released by Gimlet Media/Spotify.
Amy Henderson, the co-founder and CEO of Tendlab, will moderate this panel featuring these additional panelists:
Jill Koziol is the co-founder and CEO of Motherly, a modern lifestyle brand redefining motherhood with it’s 30M+ monthly audience. She is passionate about serving and empowering women and mothers because when mamas are successful, everyone wins. Jill is an advocate for families, female founders, and how to thrive with multiple sclerosis. *Jill has an incredible personal story that she hasn’t yet begun to share widely, and I’m excited that she’ll be on stage with us to begin the process of revealing more about herself.
Henri Loh, the co-lead of Airbnb’s parents’ group, has been advocating on behalf of parents at Airbnb for many years.  At their company summit in 2016, when Henri addressed on stage the challenges she experienced as a working parent, she was the only speaker to receive a standing ovation.  Henri has since gone on to lead a listening tour within Airbnb to learn more about the experience of other parents; she then shared the results of this process with the executive leadership team.  Henri’s work on behalf of parents’ has been featured in Fast Company, on NPR, and more.
