The Homophobes: a clown show

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Join CounterPulse and DINO DINCO for the West Coast premiere of The Homophobes: a clown show

A misunderstood miracle shakes a conservative congregation’s values to its core when their beloved pastor becomes the center of a spectacular firestorm that will forever shatter their notions of sex, gender and intercourse between animate beings. A transcendent trans-comedy of errors featuring mad ministers, divine interventions, confused angels and maybe even the antichrist.

In The Homophobes: a clown show, traditional ideas of religion collide against new theatrical forms and gender expressions. Departing from a traditional first act, the story goes through distortions of conflict and narrative, ending in a broken form that combines all genres in a sort of trans-comedy of errors.” – S. Cook

Directed by DINO DINCO
Produced by Juan Antonio Fernandez
Art Direction by Franc Fernandez
The Cast: Zach Beckman, Alvin Lee, Vivian Marino, Faisal Michael, Andrew Molina, Miranda Reilly, Marcus Peterson, Justin Wheeler

The Homophobes: a clown show was commissioned and first presented by Dixon Place in New York City on September 9-10, 16-17, 23-24, 2011 with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, a State Agency, and the City of New York Department of Cultural Affairs; and with private funds from The Peg Santvoord Foundation and The Jerome Foundation.
