Water is Life
From conception through decomposition our bodies and lives are defined by their relationship to water. As pervasive as we are permeable, we are everywhere flooded with water’s associations -- it’s shaping of our landscapes, communities, and well-being. The ability to manage and commune with water is the story of life on earth, and pursues us into the deserts of space and digital technology alike. Water is life.
Drawing upon a wide range of media and conceptual strategies, selected artworks probe wells of trust, duty, loss, and love -- testing the bonds that web and hold us. Our pan-American group of contributors also reflect upon current affairs, from the Dakota Access Pipeline protests to drought and devastation in the Brazilian water supply. Join the Growlery for a relationship drama unlike any other.
