Artist Statement
In 1996 after a long drive cross country I arrived in San Francisco from NYC. I was immediately fascinated and deeply drawn to the geography of the bay area. My exploration started with a walk in the park. The moment I get close to nature a calm comes over me and the green smells put me into a place of solitude. I used this subject mater and technic for over 14 years. After seeing the changing city and housing crisis(2008)and the advent of digital photography, my vision and social political outlook brought me to a new subject matter; architectural social political inspired work. In 2017 after having a favorable show (botanical rediscovered)of my previous botanical work at Inclusions gallery, my inspiration was rediscovered.
These new large scale works on canvas are reflections of foliage from selected parks around San Francisco.
