Sponsored by Line 6 in 2008, The Genie is an avant-garde guitarist, performing artist, and looping innovator from San Francisco. Among the most innovative and specialized live-looping artists today, he is the creator of a unique method called 'scratch guitar' and a live-remixing style called ‘g-mixing'. Refining his craft as a full-time performer for the past fifteen years, he brings together a hybrid of genres while utilizing unconventional live production styles and original looping techniques, creating a uniquely mesmerizing performance.
RUBY MOUNTAIN is an Oakland–based vocalist and songwriter who calls upon her training in Jazz, experimental electronic and Afghan music to create compositions of love, resiliency and social justice. She has been featured in museums such as the exhibit Take This Hammer: Art and Media Activism exhibition at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts curated by Christian L. Frock and as the music director for Forest Tales: An Eco Cinema by Anuj Vaidya at the San Francisco Asian Art Museum. Her recent performances include the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. in the production Tear A Root From the Earth and at the Muddy Waters Blues and Jazz Festival in Los Angeles with the Hopi Blues Band.
