The Crucible's 2018 Spring Open House

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Join us this Spring for a taste of what you can create in the fine and industrial arts! With inspiring and educational demonstrations in nineteen of our departments, including Neon, Ceramics, Glass Blowing, Blacksmithing, Welding, and more, you will walk away with greater knowledge of how to get started on your next creative pursuit. Explore unique local art in our carefully curated Crucible Art Gallery, enjoy delicious beer from Old Kan Beer & Co, then take a break outside, snacking on a taco from Villa Rocio’s food truck. And make sure to come ready to register for classes, taking advantage of $25 off every Crucible class!

10 Things You Can't Miss!

https://thecrucible.org/10-things-you-cant-miss-open-house/

This event is free and open to the general public. All are welcome! However, parents of small children will need to pay special attention, as our studio space does have some rough edges.

ART GALLERY
Walk through our art gallery and peruse artwork from Crucible staff, students, faculty, and volunteers. Vote on your favorite three pieces – the winning artist will get free tuition on a Crucible class!

BIKE SALE
We have a great selection of bicycles that have been fully rebuilt by our youth and volunteer mechanics. In addition to getting a sweet, reliable ride, your purchase supports our Youth Earn-A-Bike Program and Bike Fix-A-Thons.

DEMONSTRATIONS
Learn more about the different disciplines you can explore at The Crucible by watching Crucible experts demonstrate their craft in 19 departments, including Glass Blowing, Blacksmithing, Foundry, Ceramics, and more!

DISCOUNTED CLASSES
During the Open House, every Crucible class is $25 off! Come ready to register! And don’t forget to submit your name for a chance to win a free Crucible class! All are eligible to participate.

FOOD AND BEVERAGES
Inside, we will be serving wine and beer graciously donated by Old Kan Beer & Co. Outside, Villa Rocio’s food truck will sell Mexican cuisine. Please note, some vendors are cash only.

FREE CLASS DRAWING
Play with clay in our Ceramics Department or practice your stamping skills while making a copper pendant of your own design in our Jewelry Department.
