Jazz veterans Billy Harper (tenor saxophone), Eddie Henderson (trumpet), George Cables (piano), Cecil McBee (bass), Billy Hart (drums), David Weiss (trumpet), and Craig Handy (saxophone) forge a world-class union collectively known as The Cookers. Taking their name from a 1965 Blue Note album by the late, great trumpeter Freddie Hubbard, this exciting new all-star septet summons up an aggressive mid '60s spirit on their new album Warriors, a potent collection of expansive post-bop originals marked by all the requisite killer instincts and pyrotechnic playing expected of some of the heaviest hitters on the scene today.
