ABOUT OUR GALA
Circus Center was the first modern circus school in America. Before we came along, circus arts education had been either a family affair or a state-sponsored institution. But in 1984, two visionary women - Judy Finelli and Wendy Parkman - had a radical idea: make circus training accessible to everyone. They founded our school, and now 39 years later, Circus Center has grown into one of the largest and most prestigious circus schools in the US.
This year's Gala honors our founders and celebrates the many contributions - seen and unseen - of women to the circus, and we are raising money to continue our pursuit of that original founding belief: circus is for everybody! All proceeds from the Gala benefit our commitments to equity and access in circus arts education, including:
