THE CHRISTMAS JUG BAND

SEE EVENT DETAILS
The Christmas Jug Band: "The kings of 100% acoustic folk-skiffle-swing holiday highjinks. Stalwart purveyors of the jugabilly mystique! A tongue-in-cheek seasonal convergence of San Francisco Bay Area luminaries."

For 2025: We have assembled a cast of characters to bring you your musical holiday wackiness. Performing this year are Greg Dewey (from Mad River, Country Joe & the Fish, Marty Balin), Tim Eschliman (Etta James, Back pOrchEstra, Commander Cody), Paul Rogers (Those Darn Accordions), Snakebite Jacobs (Kinky Friedman, New Orleans Nightcrawlers, Rhythmtown-Jive), Candy Girard (Dan Hick's "Hot Licks", Delaney Bramlet, (Back pOrchEstra, Jerry Garcia), and Blake Richardson (Bobby Hebb, Hot House).

With a new single being released November 7, 2025, "Carolin,'" The Christmas Jug Band and Back pOrchEstra bring a seductive South American beach vibe to the holidays - available on all streaming services.

What began as a whiskey-fueled lark (the Monday Night Wild Turkey Jug Band), has become over four decades of holiday tradition. The group plays its share of holiday standards, but makes its mark with original tongue-in-cheek odes to the season such as "Santa Lost a Ho" and "Daddy's Drinkin' Up Our Christmas." The Jug Band backs up its lyrics with an entertaining blend of country, blues, skiffle and rock, and at times has featured guest spots by such luminaries as harmonica hero Norton Buffalo, R&B singers Maria Muldaur and Angela Strehli Mike Duke, Barry Melton, Shana Morrison as well as havingf Dan Hicks as a member through many decades. If you haven't already, be sure to make it a holiday tradition!
