The Breathing Room, Suzanimal, Nyte Skye

The Breathing Room

The Breathing Room creates a dreamy & atmospheric space for their listeners to inhabit. Based in San Francisco, California, their sound is a unique blend of their eclectic surroundings & musical influences ranging from psychedelia, jazz, classic songwriting to heartfelt soul. They recently finished recording their debut full length album with Oakland based producer Jason Kick (Mild High Club, Levitation Room) & are excited to share it this August.

Suzanimal

Suzanimal is a smart, playful psychedelic pop/rock project from San Francisco Bay Area singer, songwriter and bassist Suzanne Galal. Inspired by her love of Talking Heads and the Tom Tom Club. Galal -- a scientist and pharmacy professor by day -- picked up a bass guitar for the first time at the age of 30, and began writing confident, groove-centered tracks soon after. With Galal's seductive yet light-as-air vocals, lyrics driven by her curiosity about the human mind, and a cast of veteran backing musicians, the band quickly earned a reputation for engaging live performances and genre-defying style. A Suzanimal show is designed to make you lose yourself to the rhythm -- with just enough of the unexpected to keep you on your toes 'til the afterparty.

Nyte Skye

Bay Area natives Nyles Lannon and his son Skye spent many nights during lockdown holed up in their home studio, channeling their anxieties into songs. They made a promise to complete a whole album, chronicling that time together. The result is a lively stew of atmospheric, moody and cathartic rock, articulated with Skye's dynamic, Stewart Copeland-inspired drumming. Skye was 12 at the time.

Fast forward two years, and on January 10th, Nyte Skye finally released their debut LP "Vanishing" on the Sonic Ritual record label. They played a packed house to celebrate at this year's NoisePop Festival in San Francisco. Nyles and Skye (now 15) are joined by Oakland's Nichole Kreglow (synth, guitar, vox) and bassist David Gould. The band has developed an awesome live show that is winning over fans every time they play.

Nyles Lannon is one of the original members and is still active in the formally-SF band Film School, recently opening a string of shows for Pavement. He has released several solo LPs, earning accolades over the years, including "One of the Best Albums of the Year" from the San Francisco Bay Guardian and "Best Folktronica Artist" from SF Weekly. He toured in the band Rogue Wave. In recent years he has found success as a commercial composer and his music has been used in hundreds of commercials and shows.
