The Bad Five is a modern jazz ensemble informed by the entirety of jazz, from its birth in New Orleans to its adolescence in New York to its present form and beyond. This band features renowned San Jose Jazz collaborator and saxophonist Oscar Pangilinan, bassist Fred Paclibon, trumpeter Daniel Matthews, pianist Bennett Roth-Newell, and drummer Sutton Marley. Together, they pay tribute to the jazz artists of generations past, and actively infuse new and exciting sounds from other genres to create their own unique, modern style.
