The Artists: A Group Exhibition & Benefit

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Kids & Art Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 2008 to give children with cancer a way to raise funds for continued cancer research. With monthly art workshops, teaming with local artists, their mission is about empowerment, encouragement and creating memorable experiences.

With art workshops resuming in the Fall, for the first time Kids & Art is hosting a special one day artist exhibition and benefit “Kids & Art: The Artists - A Group Exhibition” on Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Gallerie CITI in Burlingame from 3:00 - 6:00. 50% of art proceeds from the exhibition will benefit Kids & Art workshops and provide for care packages sent to children at long stay units at local hospitals.

Up for display and for sale will be the 26 pieces of artwork by 19 local artists that have worked with the Kids & Art children throughout the years. There will be a variety of media types, from watercolor, acrylic, to digital illustration (Ghostbot and Pixar artists), and ceramic sculptures. A full list of participating artists is shown below.

“This program could not have gotten off the ground were it not for the generosity of the artists,” said Purvi Shah, Founder of Kids & Art. “It just mushroomed, and artists were eager to give of their time and share their creativity with these children. There were many touching, special bonds that were formed between.”

The children, who find out about Kids & Art through their hospital caregivers, opt into the program knowing that their participation may not benefit their fight directly, but will contribute to the overall battle that will help others in the future.

This will be a great opportunity to meet with the artists and enjoy wine sponsored by Silver Mountain Vineyards.
