The Arab American Comedy Festival 20th Anniversary Tour

SEE EVENT DETAILS
The New York Arab American Comedy Festival, which was co-created in 2003 by comedians Maysoon Zayid and Dean Obeidallah--is celebrating its 20th anniversary by taking the show to the city by the Bay! Approximately 250,000 Arab Americans call the Bay Area home, and the universality of comedy with this festival's headliners has proven appeal across the country - award winners Tony Shalhoub and Ramy Youssef recently headlined the NY show.

The Festival, celebrated by The New York Times, Vanity Fair, NPR and Boston Globe, was created to both dispel negative stereotypes about Arab Americans as well as create a platform for an often marginalized community to tell vital, compelling and hilarious stories through comedy. Our San Francisco show will star six headliners: Maysoon Zayid (record setting TED Talk "I've got 99 Problems... Palsy is Just One," regular on CNN, MSNBC, OWN and General Hospital), Dean Obeidallah (MSNBC, CNN, The Dean Obeidallah Show" on SiriusXM radio, Comedy Central's "Axis of Evil," award-winning doc "The Muslims are Coming!"), Atheer Yacoub (Comedy Central Arabia, Gotham Comedy Live), Aron Kader (Comedy Central's Axis of Evil Special), Reem Edan (Shahid VIP "Stand Up Sketch Show"), and Sammy Obeid (Host of 100 Humans on Netflix, CONAN).

Our San Francisco show will star six headliners who have performed in our past festivals. Funding for New York Arab-American Comedy Festival's anniversary tour is provided by the Doris Duke Foundation.
