The 510 Shakedown is BACK!!! Getting East Bay rowdy at Ivy Room!
July, 3rd 2017 – Oakland, CA – In the spirit of Sheba Queen of the Night, The originator of Shakedown Burlesque, RedBone, inherited producer, will be continuing this quarterly live music & burlesque tradition, Saturday, July 15th at Ivy Room. This show marks 1 year of a beloved “riot” celebrating some of Bay Area’s most widely known ecdysiasts, featuring neo forms of vintage-styled striptease combined with varying local era-driven musical headliners.
“The 510 Shakedown is the perfect night out in the East Bay. This incredible showcase captures a snapshot of yester years burlesque’s originators through the eyes of today’s movers, shakers & innovators”, says RedBone; one of 2016‘s Top 20 in burlesque by 21st Century Burlesque Magazine and Producer of Nudie Nubie’s SF -- Bay Area’s ONLY amateur burlesque competition & showcase. “It’s the full experience! Not only are we bringing a hand full of cherry picked, bay area burlesque representatives to your neighborhood bar, we hope to engage and reconnect the people with the most pure & powerful forms of entertainment; Live music & dance.’”
RedBone, Queen Competitor in The 2017 Tournament of Tease at The Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend, adds, “The 510 Shakedown is really a choose-your-own-adventure situation. Dress up or come as your are. Get it in! Or chill it out! We’ll give you the tools, just decide how you want them to inspire you. We really want is to continue to sustain what we love while building the Bay Area burlesque fan base so as to ensure the future of a performance art that has been, is and will always be for & by the people.”
