Haute Couturier Stephanie Coudert Named President of the 2015 Arts of Fashion International Fashion Competition and Symposium
The Bay Area’s Fashion Education Organization To Hold Annual Fashion Symposium and Final Fashion Show on October 27, 2015 at the Bently Reserve
The Bay Area will be host to one of Haute Couture’s newest members - Stephanie Coudert. Recently invited to present in the very exclusive circle of presenters, Coudert is one of the three women (including Bouchra Jarrar and Iris Van Herpen) who, according to Didier Grumbach - President of Honor of the Federation of Haute Couture, will shape the future of the industry.
The Arts of Fashion Foundation - a San Francisco-based fashion education nonprofit, will kick off its 2-day Symposium in the city with a half-day series of conversations with Stephanie Coudert and other fashion leaders. This event will be held on October 26, 2015, at 3:30 p.m. in San Francisco Public Library’s Koret Auditorium. Coudert will share her experience on being a designer, as well as her choice to live and work shaded from the fashion world.
Day 2 will kick off at the Bently Reserve where the Foundation and the 2015 Host Committee - Helina Au and Juliet Bergh, will hold the annual presentation of “mini collections” 50 from emerging fashion designers from across the globe.
In April 2015, 314 projects from 34 countries were narrowed to these 50 finalists who will be competing for apprenticeships at select fashion houses in Europe and Asia and scholarships to the Foundation’s MasterClasses-series in Paris at the Decorative Arts Museum. Coudert and a panel of industry professionals will evaluate the projects at the culminating runway fashion show at 7:30 p.m. followed by the final awards ceremony.
