From deep in the west Texas town of El Paso comes The 1-800, an indie pop outfit that you're sure to fall for. It doesn't hurt that these four guys are talented and good looking. Heavy nostalgia with catchy electronics layered between power chords and all-around tight instrumentals, the 1-800 draws not only from the 80s synth greats (A-Ha, anyone?) but also psychedelic pop of the 2000s (think MGMT or Phoenix). Songs titles like "The Millenial That No One Wants" are immediately relatable, whether or not it's tongue in cheek millennial humor. Post punk, 80s rock, y un healthy dose of emo and indie pop make for a true treat for any music lover: you'll dance, you'll headbang, and above all you'll be taken away to a simpler time.
