Legendary punk rock, trans pioneer and chanteuse Bambi Lake joins forces with celebrated Cockettes songster Scrumbly Koldwyn and his Cirque du Scrumbello for Tender Is My Loin, a musical revue and homage to The Tenderloin of San Francisco. This scintillating revue features new numbers by Koldwyn and Birdie Bob Watt plus all their classic songs performed by a cast of veteran Thrillpeddler performers including Kitten on the Keys.
The Tenderloin, nestled near San Francisco's downtown area, has historically resisted gentrification, maintaining a seedy character and reputation for crime. Squalid conditions, homelessness, illegal drug trade, prostitution, liquor stores, and strip clubs give the neighborhood a seedy reputation bouyed by the underground artists and creatives that have made it their home.
Never a stranger to seedy characters and underground art, Bambi, Scrumbly and Birdie embrace a neighborhood that has defiantly stayed its own course through a changing San Francisco, still giving a home and voice to those refusing to be pushed out.
PianoFight’s not just a theater, it’s also a restaurant and bar!
