THIS EVENT HAS ENDED
After a couple of years of playing in the experimental, rock band, Wikkid, Busy Gangnes and Melissa Livaudais decided they had grown tired of live "rock" guitars and drums. Both members quit the band and formed Telepathe. Telepathe initially started out as effected, improvisational 'shoe gazey' style music which they recorded as "Farewell Forest", an EP released on the Brooklyn label The Social Registry. After a long tour behind the release of the EP, Busy and Melissa moved into a warehouse in Bushwick, Brooklyn together, and built a home studio, and live rehearsal space. The two bonded over their love for Hip Hop music, UK garage, dubstep, and all that was rhythmically syncopated. They also espoused their distaste for indie rock bands, and 4 on the floor new disco. Both members come from musical backgrounds and are multi instrumentalists, so Busy and Melissa decided to become not only a "band" but "Producers." In 2006 Telepathe released the single "Sinister Militia," on The Social Registry label with several remixes, including one by Livaudais' best friend, Tyler Pope of !!!, and LCD Soundsystem.
