Telegraph Quartet performs in Mill Valley

Mill Valley Chamber Music Society's Marin Chamber Performances concert series continues Nov. 5, 2017 with Telegraph Quartet.

Telegraph Quartet features Eric Chin and Joseph Maile, violin; Pei-Ling Lin, viola; and Jeremiah Shaw, cello. The Nov. 5 concert program includes Hugo Wolf: Italian Serenade; Beethoven: Op. 18 #5; and Schoenberg: Quartet #1, Op. 7

Recently named the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM) quartet-in-residence through the 2019-2020 season, the Telegraph Quartet is the recipient of some of the chamber music world’s highest honors including the 2016 Walter W. Naumburg Chamber Music Award and Grand Prize at the 2014 Fischoff Chamber Music Competition.

Telegraph Quartet made its debut in 2013 and has performed at venues from Los Angeles and New York to Italy and Taiwan, including Carnegie Hall, San Francisco’s Herbst Recital Hall and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and festivals including the Chautauqua Institute, Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival and the Emilia Romagna Festival. Telegraph Quartet was invited as one of a handful of emerging professional string quartets from around the world to perform at the Biennale de quatuors à cordes, a showcase for major concert presenters of Europe and Asia taking place at the Philharmonie de Paris.

Telegraph Quartet plans to release its debut album in 2017, featuring works by Anton Webern, Benjamin Britten and Leon Kirchner and will perform at Carnegie Hall / Weill Recital Hall in 2018 for its Naumburg Award Recital, featuring the world premiere of Robert Sirota’s third string quartet.

Mill Valley Chamber Music Society offers free admission for young adults 18-years old and under. Audiences members 15-years old and under must be accompanied by an adult.
