The 1967 Summer of Love in San Francisco was a catalyst for social and cultural change in the United States and beyond. Young people looked at the world around them and decided to take action to create the world they wanted. Fueled by curiosity, rebellion, and experimentation, youth created art, fashion, and music addressing their personal expression, political views, and social needs.
Join us to learn and get inspired by the exhibition The Summer of Love Experience: Art, Fashion and Rock & Roll. Teens will learn ways we can unite and support each other for important social issues concerning identity, the environment, equality and immigration. The museum will host local and nationwide community groups to speak about current social issues as well as spoken word and poetry performances, gallery activities, protest poster art making and music of the times.
