Teebs
Teebs (aka Mtendere Mandowa) has been in the right place at the right time. The avid skater met esteemed workaholic producers Flying Lotus and Samiyam at a 2007 Red Bull Music Academy function in Orange County and later became immersed in Los Angeles's weekly future-bass hot spot the Low End Theory, witnessing the Gaslamp Killer, Daedelus, Kutmah, and others tear it up on the regular. An Achilles-tendon injury forced Teebs to take a year off from skating, which allowed him to focus on his music. He eventually ended up rooming with FlyLo and Samiyam, absorbing the rampaging, wonkily funky sounds he heard in his living space and then peace-ing them out into more blissful configurations.
Free The Robots
Chris Alfaro always has a new story to tell with his ever-evolving solo project Free the Robots. The next chapter, titled 'The Balance', is exactly that. The sound resonates somewhere between chaos and solitude, where Alfaro has literally found balance. As a musician, beat maker, DJ, and owner of the iconic restaurant / bar, The Crosby, he has always had the ability to jump in and out of other worlds inspiring a unique signature sound that hints at jazz, psych, electronic, and hip hop, while remaining un-genre-fiable. His open-ended imagination and tendency to break free from any boundaries keeps a steady flow of ideas running through his head, constantly moving him forward; away from robotic monotony, ultimately freeing the robots.
Rooted in Santa Ana, CA, Free the Robots has spent over a decade taking his craft to audiences around the globe. Known as one of the pioneering artists to come out of LA's beat movement, he continues on building his line up of original recordings in directions still unknown. The energy and technical skill behind his live performances have landed him among the greats, sharing stages with the likes of Dj Shadow, Prefuse 73, Flying Lotus, to Afrika Bambaataa.

Firmly rooted in jazz and hip hop, he sharpened his digging sensibility working at the now legendary Music Mania record store in hometown Brussels. His passion for jazz resulted in a remix album for Blue Note which was well received by the community. Lefto is forever moving forward but always has an ear in the past. Famed for his gloriously eclectic DJ sets, he switches effortlessly between hip hop, funk, breaks, neck-snapping beats, future bass, South-American influences, bruk riddims and some wild African rhythms. He's not only a deejay and producer but also curates his own stage at the Dour Festival and his own nights in Gent in collaboration with Democrazy.
World renowned, LeFtO regularly blesses sound systems from Tokyo to Seoul and Singapore to New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles. He has been a resident deejay for Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Festivals since 2008 around the world. Camera under the arm, he is also one of the few deejays on this planet who can deejay somewhere and have a nice movie on the internet a couple hours later, with over 250 videos on YouTube and Vimeo, it's very impressive. The travels resulted in the Worldwide Family Vol. 1 compilation on Gilles Peterson's Brownswood Recordings with partner in crime DJ Simbad in 2011. In 2012 he put out two compilations, one for American brand 101Apparel and the other one for Universal Music. Lefto has won may awards across the years from Red Bull Elektropedia, including “Belgian DJ Top 100”. He’s currently working on the release of “Lefto In Transit” a concept film by Kurt De Leijer and himself, as well as working with Red Bull Elektropedia for a Lefto Presents event overseas.
