Panelist Bios
Alexa Clay is an innovation strategist, author and researcher who specializes in subcultures and innovative economies, Alexa Clay is rewiring the spirit of capitalism, one misfit at a time.
As director of the RSA in NYC, she leads a global hub for enlightened thinking and collaborative action in innovation, building creative networks to address today’s social challenges. Co-author of the best-selling book The Misfit Economy, she’s garnered international accolades for the work’s heavily researched argument that entrepreneurs have much in common with ambitious innovators in underground economies – think gangsters, pirates, hackers etc. – and that it’s worth building bridges between these misfit subcultures and the formal economy.
Alexa is also a co-founder of the League of Intrapreneurs (a movement designed to spark corporate social revolution), and founder of Wisdom Hackers (an incubator for public-interest philosophy). In 2013, Clay started performing as "the Amish Futurist," an alter ego she developed to bring more existential reflection into the tech scene. The Amish Futurist has performed at SXSW, re:publica, Tech Open Air Berlin, and the DEAF Biennale.

---
Zvika Krieger co-leads the World Economic Forum's new Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in San Francisco, where he works with governments, leading companies, civil society, and stakeholders from around the world to accelerate the adoption of new technologies in ways that serve the global public interest.

He previously served as the first-ever U.S. Department of State Representative to Silicon Valley and Senior Advisor for Technology and Innovation. He worked with the technology and innovation sectors on tackling global challenges, leading initiatives on providing assistance to refugees, tracking nuclear weapons, expanding access to clean energy, and countering violent extremism. He also helped the State Department plan for the international impacts of emerging technology trends, such as blockchains, gene editing, and artificial intelligence. He teaches "Hacking for Diplomacy," "Designing for Refugees," and "Long Distance Design" at Stanford and "Designing Technology to Counter Violent Extremism" at UC Berkeley.

---
Tenzin Seldon is the co-founder and CEO at Kinstep, a B2B tech platform that matches pre-vetted immigrants with employment directly in the community. As a Tibetan refugee raised in the Indian Himalayas, Tenzin is all too familiar with the struggles of being an immigrant. Realizing the power of technology to empower immigrants, she  founded Kinstep. While providing a living wage, the company combats the problems associated with 'under-the-table' work that often leads to exploitative labor practices. Partners include WeWork, Box and more.
Tenzin graduated with honors from Stanford University, followed by University of Oxford, where she was a Rhodes Scholar. Tenzin has spent her career advocating for disenfranchised communities, leading Climate Justice League chapters around the US, working on negotiations with Israel and Palestine, and, most recently, at the United Nations Regional Office of Asia and the Pacific. At the UN, Tenzin witnessed many young migrants experiencing hardships assimilating to a new country. She was a visiting lecturer at Rangsit University, where she taught International Policy. Tenzin’s work has been recognized around the world: as a World Economic Forum Global Shaper, a Harry S. Truman Scholar, and one of OZY Magazine’s “5 Civil-Rights Leaders for a New Generation."

---
Patrick Dowd is a creative strategist who works with visionary organizations to craft experiences that change lives and tell powerful stories. As Market Innovation Lead at West, he helps early-stage companies cultivate large markets for new ideas.
