Exhibition Dates: March 16- April 9, 2013

Warholian and Modern Eden Gallery have come together to present “Tarot: Art of Fortune” a modern day reinterpretation of the classic intuitive “fortune telling” card deck. The show features some of the best emerging names in the gallery scene today as curated by Warholian’s founder Michael Cuffe.

Although it’s roots may seem occult, Tarot was originally developed as a pack of playing cards in 15th century Europe to play French Tarot or Italian Tarocchini. Over time, individuals in the intuitive and early psychic communities began to adopt the cards as use as a tool to “read” an individual and offer spiritual guidance. Today Tarot has become more widely accepted as a way for individuals to find direction in the bustle of a modern world. With the availability of decks ranging from artistic to commercial, tarot has become a personalized standard of home libraries everywhere.

For “Tarot: Art of Fortune” we’ve asked some of the top contemporary artists to reimagine their favorite card from a standard deck, into a work of art based on the imagery and symbolism present. “Tarot: Art of Fortune” features an amazing array of established artists that have been individually selected as important figures in emerging art movements at this time.

Participating artists include: Chris Blackstock, Sandra Yagi, Sergio Lopez, Casey Gray, Trevor Young, Michael Ryan, Rachel Moseley, Jena Rockwood, Eve Skylar, Christopher Charles Curtis, Ben Walker, Carly Ivan Garcia, Melissa Morgan, Leilani Bustamante, Josh Ellingson, Lee Harvey Roswell, Mia Christopher, Lauren Napolitano, Cory Benhatzel, Joshua Coffy, Evan Venegas, Kim Larson, Mab Graves, Sidharth Chaturvedi, Brian Greif, Gregory Siff, Aaron Bo Heimlich, Robert Harris, Ryan de la Hoz, Vahge, Peter Adamyan, Steve Javiel, Catherine Moore, Adam Caldwell, Helen Bayly, John Wentz, Sherry DeLorme, Adam Caldwell, Brenton Bostwick, Brett Flanigan, Alec Huxley, Lisa Alonzo, Chor Boogie, Lyrica Glory, Bradley Platz, Nick Flatt, Ivan Grianti, Brianna Angelakis, Daniel J. Valadez, Daisy Church, Ahren Hertel, Olivia Chen, Shawn Kawa, Chelsea Brown, Aleksandra Zee, Brandi Lee, Meryl Pataky, Marcos LaFarga, Jake Kobrin, Peat Wollaeger, Leon Loucheur, Jane Kenoyer, Xiau-Fong Wee, Aoi Yamaguchi, Calvin Wong, Gwen Rosewater, Renee Castro, Peter Gronquist, John Felix Arnold, Anne Herrero, Kim Frohsin, GILF, Akira Beard, Heart Twain, Charmaine Olivia, Craig Larotonda, and Michael Cuffe.
