It's Talk Like A Pirate Day at
the Dana Street Roastery with
the Sons of the Buccaneers,
Nautical Musicological Authenticists.
Question: Why did the pirate cross the road?
Answer at bottom.
Follow the Sons of the Buccaneers in Sailors' Ditties, Shipboard Chanties, Bawdy Ballads, Maritime Melodies, and Nautical Nonsense. Their music is exciting and infectious, and you'll want to be singing along. Bring your voices, your musical toys, and join in the fun.
Sons of the Buccaneers are Alan Lochhead, an animated virtuoso concertina artist and a classical stand-up bassist who sings harmonies; Jim Nelson, a well traveled folkie who sings clear strong leads (and been known to yodel) and picks a long necked 5 string banjo; Ruup, a genuine Dubliner whose soft haunting Irish pennywhistle melodies and lilting solos bring tears; Brian Theriot, an award winning fiddling fool whose nimble licks and bright fills kick the music up just another spicy notch; and Mordecai, who contributes lead vocals while his 12 string guitar rings out the group's driving rhythms. Mordecai was a regular at the Hyde Street Pier Chantey sessions in the early 80's.
Sons of the Buccaneers have appeared at Quinn's Lighthouse on the Oakland Riviera (Alameda Estuary) weekly for three and a half years and have been popular at many Bay Area yacht clubs and nautical events, performing music of sailors at work and at play, at sea and ashore. It's good stuff fun. Come along and Talk Like A Pirate!!!
Answer: To get to the second hand store. AAaarghhh...
