Sure Thing / June 9 2017
A long-awaited night of high caliber techno, and our final event of the season.
Sleeparchive LIVE (Tresor, Mord / Denmark)
https://soundcloud.com/sleeparchive-official
Growing up in East Berlin, Roger Semsroth’s first loves were post-punk electronics and EBM of a darker colour, informing his widely-acclaimed projects Skanfrom and Television Set. He fell in love with techno in the mid 90s, attracted by the refined, reduced, and intense productions of artists like Jeff Mills, Mika Vainio and Richie Hawtin. When the first Sleeparchive 12“ hit the shelves of Berlin’s seminal Hard Wax in 2004, its success and impact on the international scene were sudden but well-deserved. From then on a consistent, pioneering output established an impressive career that lasts to this day, and will most certainly continue for quite some time. We’re beyond excited to welcome Sleeparchive, one of our foremost influences, to perform in SF for the very first time.
Acronym (Northern Electronics, Semantica / Sweden)
https://soundcloud.com/4cr0nym
A look back at Acronym’s release schedule, having worked with widely influential labels Northern Electronics and Semantica, reveals one of techno’s most stunning break-out careers in recent memory. His unique brand of complex, mind-bending sound design has spawned countless imitators, but Acronym continues to innovate with each stellar release. We’re honored to host his SF debut, and an extended closing set from the young talent will undoubtedly mark one of our most memorable nights to date.
