Sunday Sessions Songwriter's Circle presents Lorin Rowan, Matt Jaffe, Jon Mitguard & Dore Coller

SEE EVENT DETAILS
For our Sunday Sessions Songwriter’s Circle we're bringing in members of some of the most popular local bands and giving them an intimate environment to focus on their songwriting. Joining us on April 9th will be Lorin Rowan, Matt Jaffe, Jon Mitguard along with Dore Coller!

Singer/Songwriter Dore Coller is spearheading these sessions which highlight some of the best tunesmiths around. Come join us for a unique, intimate evening with good vibes and spectacular music.

MEET THE MUSICIANS

Lorin Rowan is a singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, arranger/producer, tv and indie film, audio book scorer who has recorded and toured internationally both as a solo artist and with his brothers as The Rowan Brothers. Lorin writes in a wide range of musical genres. His song “Soldier of the Cross’ is the title track of Country Artist Ricky Skaggs’s Grammy winning Southern Bluegrass album. In the ‘Classic Rock’ world, Marty Balin with the Jefferson Airplane/Starship recorded Lorin’s song ‘Gold’. For more information, visit https://www.lorinrowan.com

Matt Jaffe is a rock & roll singer/songwriter from San Francisco. Cutting his teeth on countless open mics around the Bay Area, Matt started taking music (a little bit) more seriously when Jerry Harrison of Talking Heads offered to produce his first record. Since then, Matt has continued to churn out more songs than he can remember the words to, oversaturate the market with gigs (opening for the likes of Mavis Staples, Wilco, and Blues Traveler), and collaborate with the likes of Chuck Prophet and Tom Higgenson of the Plain White T’s. Fresh off the release of his first LP, California’s Burning, Matt Jaffe is street-teaming with the best of them to bring rock & roll back to the masses.

Jon Mitguard has a masters from the Honky Tonk Music University. For over three decades he has been studying behind a pedal steel or dobro and played many a fine venue. His favorite situation is playing original music and kicking ass with great players like Danny Click and the Hell Yeahs. Often he is a support for others music but from the start Jon has been compelled to write songs as a vehicle of expression and exploration of unusual chord progressions. Original music lets you mix in all the music you like. His songs delve into all sorts of life’s quandaries, maybe even politics without getting out the 2 X 4.

Singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Dore Coller has played with or members of Howard Alden, Darol Anger, Big Brother, Jeffrey Cain, Larry Campbell, Lacy J Dalton, Matt Eakle, Jerry Garcia, The David Grisman Quintet, Dan Hicks, David La Flamme (It’s a Beautiful Day), Snooky Flowers, The Hot Club of San Francisco, Maria Muldaur, Jeff Narell, David Nelson, Petty Booka, Van Morrison, Pablo Cruise, Quicksilver, Starship, The Rowan Brothers, The Waybacks, and The Youngbloods. Over the years Dore and his groups have opened for Elvin Bishop, Los Lonely Boys, Dana Carvey, Jesse Colin Young, Foxy Collwood, R Crumb & The Cheap Suit Serenaders, High Country, Rattlebox, Mikey Dread, Dr Hook, David Nelson, and even made an appearance on the Gary Radnich Show on KRON TV. One of his songs ‘Silent Spring’ was the Platinum Award Winner of the Marin Earth Day 40th Anniversary Green Song Contest.
